In the field of genetic skin diseases a significant problem is that only a few centres in Europe are in a position to try to deal with groups of these diseases and even then their expertise is limited to just a few specific conditions. The activities of the Training section are aimed to organise and deliver both individual and common training of i) physicians and healthcare personnel and ii) laboratory personnel. Training will focus on diagnostic procedures, patient global care and treatment options in genodermatoses included in the GENESKIN project (i.e. epithelial adhesion disorders, keratinization disorders, ectodermal dysplasias, connective tissue disorders and DNA-repair diseases). Different areas of life sciences, information sciences and sociology will be covered through a multidisciplinary approach. Training will allow to disseminate knowledge about specific disease aspects beyond the Concerted Action participating centres to all European countries.
